No, but he was an unheralded recruit, he did not make the rotation in a year when we had no established quarterback, and nobody has seen him play yet. I'm way past wishfully expecting every freshman signee to become a superstar.

I'm satisfied with our ranking, given our losses and perpetually disturbing offensive performance all year. As for next season, I think we start in the top ten, probably 8-10th. That sets us up well for a national championship, if Miles can effectively deal with our deficiencies over the off-season (I doubt it will happen during the season) and GC actually coaches JJ.
The playbook needs to be examined to make something else effective besides running out of the Shotgun formation, and the OL needs to be fixed. Even if JJ did not improve as an athlete, a sound running game with no injuries and effective blocking will produce enough to win.

That is if the defense at least remains the same. I'd like more stats from Chavis' schemes but he has made them more effective where it counts.:geaux:

All of this is true, but I'm not wishing for a superstar, either, just an efficient game manager. We won 2 NC's with those, and Bama just won one last night with the same.

Now, maybe Garrett will be that and maybe he won't, but I can still understand why Miles redshirted him. I think it was to establish QB depth for the future. It helps more to have Garrett two years behind Jefferson, rather than one year. And very few of us ever really believed that RS was being signed to be our only QB for the future.

I think that was it, too. Perhaps CLM saved himself from his own standard (not playing underclassmen, an aggravating trait). Also, RS's redshirt was burned, and look at how often he was used in the scheme, at each position he played.

2009 simply wasn't a bad year of LSU football. 2010 won't be a bad year either. LSU will be competitive again, will have some new and talented faces, but still must somehow find a quarterback that can pass the football in the SEC to get into the SECCG. _

And where are we going to find that? And will he be coached by Crowton?
