I'm not usually a doom and gloomer, but I have to agree here. 2009 was a rebuilding year? Rebuilding from what? Our successful 2008, which was also a rebuilding year?

What should we expect for 2010? I kinda expected us to be reloaded going into 2009.

Who says rebuilding has to take only one year? Even Saint Nick didn't go from unranked to national champion in successive years. Bama has been rebuilding for six or seven years.

We still had quarterback issues in 2009 which had everybody thinking 10-2 and #4 in the SEC, instead we were 9-3 and #3 and not blown out of any of our losses including two top-5 teams. We were highly ranked most of the season until the bowl loss in which we were jobbed by the Pac-10 referees that are tired of hearing how the SEC is the best conference.

2009 simply wasn't a bad year of LSU football. 2010 won't be a bad year either. LSU will be competitive again, will have some new and talented faces, but still must somehow find a quarterback that can pass the football in the SEC to get into the SECCG.

All good points but I think this is the most signifigant thing you pointed out. No dobut by now that you must have a QB that is either strong and can lead the team or someone who does enough not to screw the game up (McElroy/Snead)

Fair point for many programs. However, we've been pulling in Top 10 recruiting classes every year, it's not like we should have a bare cupboard and have to start from scratch. Are the coaches just missing that many times with their recruits, or are we not doing a good enough job in developing our talent?

Maybe Jefferson will develop, but as it stands right now, I have a difficult time picturing a guy who's going to lead us to an SEC West title. Maybe he'll be a late bloomer. Has the Perrilloux issue really set the program back this far? Is Russell Shepard the answer, or will be looking for our QB of the future in one of these next two recruiting classes?

2009 wasn't a terrible year, I just don't currently have a lot of confidence in the direction. What do you see as the outlook for 2010? Who's the new and talented faces we should be ready for? Will the O-line play up to their potential next year?

We finished #17 in both polls, not #18.

Ole Miss finished #20/#21, Penn State finished #8/#9, Florida finished #3/#3, and Bama #1/1.

They even let USC sneak back into the polls at #20/#22. As for Oklahoma, they got left out... just missed at #26/#29.

Auburn finished at #31/#32, Georgia at #32/#33, and Arkansas at #37/#38.

Didn't see the poll. Are they having Bama and Boise St. split the national championship?

Well that is an interesting stat. However my concern is the over all trend of things. I think with the current coaching staff over all we cant win a NC maybe a SEC champ but I wouldn't bet on it.

    Oh, come on...

Miles has already won a NC, and it included the guy everyone now would like to see gone. I truly believe we've had some issues the past couple of years that have slowed us down. Like OU is going through, like USC is going through. The list could go on and on.

Teams have up and down cycles.

As an LSU fan, I'm not ready to throw out Miles. Instead, I'm hoping he'll get us back to the top. But NC's are very elusive; we're lucky we won 2 of them in the past 7 years.
