bummer---- i've been patient for two years- miles' recruits have been in place, learned the system etc--- next year i wont be so understanding-- that and all those players ( including ours) are leaving for the nfl before the rookie salary cap.--- anything less than a sugar bowl , or dare i say it chik-fil-a bowl, will be construed as a failure. oh yeah - you have some weapons-- USE THEM-- sheppard and randle are no good on the bench- however it deominstrates to top recruits that they will at least see some playing time LSU, SEC and whoever plays Notre Lame!!!!!
Personally I think 18th is pretty nice of the pollsters. I wouldn't put us in the top 20 with the way we played against PSU. We just didn't have any offense to speak of.
Last year we were unranked. This was a rebuilding year and we improved. We could have far worse problems than being ranked in the top-20.
LSU 2008, rebuilding year, 8-5. LSU 2009, another rebuilding year?, 9-4. LSU 2010, still rebuilding? . . . Alabama 2007, rebuilding year, 7-6. Alabama 2008, still rebuilding?, 12-2 Alabama 2009, on stable ground now!, 14-0
18th is not bad considering the performances in both wins and loses. Preseason for next year will probably range in the 15-25 range. If LSU keeps Crowton I would say 19-25. I would say based on the schedule LSU will be have a good year if they only finish with 3 losses, I would gather 4-6 losses next year including the bowl game in the total.
