Dude....I AM from New Orleans and understand all that about the streets. I worked in the kitchens of New Orleans with plenty of drug dealers. I hired several murderers...and they were loyal to me. That's kind of background is no excuse for someone in the position that Mathieu's in. Heismann candidate, NFL draft position, College student. LSU isn't the seventh ward (I grew up in the eighth)...I Think he realizes that. He can talk all he wants on the field...but he represents the university when he has a much bigger audience (Twitterverse).

I didn't know that synthetic weed and Bath Salts were different. The Arabs that sell it at the Texaco store didn't explain that to me.

I like Mathieu, I wish him success....I want him to succeed. But I bet you $100 if we gave him a pop whiz quiz....well ???

 

Winston, the most mis quoted verse in the entire Bible is..."Judge not lest ye be judged."

Because most of the time it's quoted by clueless (in regards to the Bible) people. The Judge does more than have an opinion if you are guilty or not....he sends you to jail. We don't have the right to condemn someone and blow them off forever.

We are supposed to have an opinion....we are supposed to know light from darkness, good from evil. That's what our well formed consciences are for. We're not supposed to execute a sentence...the proper Christian response is love and forgiveness. (Not that I'm good at that.)

I do want to reiterate that I'm a Mathieu fan...he's in a position to help out a lot of kids that look up to him.

 

I don't want to test any athlete...but they should be able to pass any drug test any time...if drug use is against the rules. He's not a criminal, even though the stuff he tested positive for was not legal to sell, it was previously legal. He's not a law breaker...but he did break team rules.

You know, when the news first came out about the synthetic marijuana, my Bama friend from Birmingham called me up and laughingly screamed into the phone, "What the hell are you guys doing drug testing the players for....don't you know better than to do that !!!??!!"

I agreed with him. He kept saying whose bright idea was that? We don't ever do that at Bama !!!

I kind of agree, which is why I had to stop following him on Twitter months ago. Just a lot of crap.

 

TM should get off of twitter and fast. He is going from one of the most respected players and Heisman hopeful to one of the most despised players in the country. Just shut up and play ball. Everytime he tweets he gives other teams bulletin board material and gives NFL GM's something else to worry about. I hated Miami in the 80's and his tweets remind me more of those teams every time. Again, just shut up and play, then watch the money roll in.

 

Yeah but tell the whole story. All them hot tays hanging around you, I'd prolly stay on the couch a lot too.
