Santa has been retired...again. He remains available for service in the event we desperately need a win, however, I see no need to pull him out for any Big 10 matchups. Santa said his old lady could have handled that one for us.:hihi:
:crystal: I've listened to the pundits dis LSU all day long. Many of these same pundits were pimping LSU during the season. Big Deal! They are using LSU as a punching bag to bring change to the system. They minimize the win against tOSU because it was a "home" game, yet say USC is the better team for beating Illinois - in the Rose Bowl - no mention of home field advantage. Was Illinois even ranked? They say LSU had two losses. So did everyone else but Hawaii and Kansas. They say LSU lost to a five-loss team and a team that got blasted by Missouri in the Cotton Bowl so we are not the best team in football. Some of them say it is USC who lost to sorry Stanford. They say we wouldn't beat USC or UG but that is just wishful speculation. No one really knows. Under the current system we were deserving and we won the championship. Case closed. :crystal: They say a playoff would determine the best team. I like the playoff format and am an advocate but the "best" team doesn't always win in a playoff or tournament format. A playoff would determine a deserving champion but it doesn't necessarily mean that team is the best in the land. Having said that, I think the BCS crowned the most deserving team in the nation. It's debatable whether LSU would've won in a playoff format but they had as good a chance as anyone. Better than most. :crystal: Finally, can we have some kind of wake or something and lay the ghost of Nick Saban to rest. I hope to never hear his name again in relation to LSU football. He did a great job while he was here but he left. We have a coach. A better one in my opinion. :crystal: :geaux: Great season! Next year we reload. :geaux:
When we were in NO this was a hot topic and I read an article somewhere (and don't ask me where b/c I killed that brain cell already) that USC stated they would pull out of the BCS if the system went to a play-off or plus 1...has to do with them loosing their bowl tie in....Big 10 schools were not as adament, but it did flat out state USC as saying they would hit the road...ESPN talked about it a bit on Game Day finale too...telling USC not to complain b/c it was their conference who was blocking things And while I do agree you MUST win your conf. championship, so UGA can't sit here and moan, I will not lie.....I'm awful glad we ended up playing TN instead of them in the SEC champ. game!!! The ENTIRE season of work counts...not just the end...not just the beginning:thumb:
