any time someone wants to support a playoff system is the right time to support the playoff system. adams didnt say LSU shouldnt be the NC, just that we have a crappy way of figuring out what teams play for it. DONT YOU AGREE? the SEC rules suck, too. until the SEC goes to a true round robin (like the pac10, i believe) the schedules will be uneven. im no uga fan, but they have gotten bad luck (or not received good luck) a few times, while LSU has twice now gotten breaks. the system sucks. lets play it on the field.
His proposal would be a lot more credible if it wasn't served up with sour grapes. UGA should be happy that they finished #2. We couldn't get to that point last year, but we all "knew" that UF and LSU were 1, 2 respectively at the end of the year. Did not matter. We didn't complain. We didn't demand a playoff. UGA needs to chill out. UGA is acting like it has never been here before (well, they haven't in a long time), your opportunity appears to be before you this year. Win your damned division and win the SECCG. They have a great opportunity to do so. The incesant whining from Georgia is really hard to phathom. First of all, he didn't say anything last year when UF's President proposed it or when Auburn was left out...IT just seems too convenient for him and self serving to be saying that now. The SEC has more teams and plays a CG, unlike the Puff 10. They did play it on the fiels and UGh-A was smoked by UT.
Best post in this thread! I did cry out foul when AU was cheated btw and the SEC could've won 3 :crystal: in the last 5 years! It seems everyone but the pac ten and big ten agree we need a playoff and that the current system is a mess but those conferences won't agree to it. Either conference is in a CG every other year because of their soft schedules.

Or last spring/summer when the President of UF put it before the SEC Members Presidents meeting and got not one supporting comment from any other SEC Member President. Everyone keeps talking about the PAC 10 and the BIG 10 being the road blocks - I dont't buy that and think that is a smoke screen. I haven't seen the other conferences beating the door down. They money and the money distribution are too good with the present system. Finally, regarding a playoff, as long as you have any input from the polls or voters or whatever you are not going to solve all the problems. Someone is almost always going to feel left out. As I have said several times, if we had a playoff this year, UGA would still be out of it. At the end of the season UGA was the third team in the conference. Sure the polls liked them, but on the field, they just didn't get it done. How would the rest of the conference or the other conferences see it if the THIRD PLACE TEAM IN THE SEC was in a playoff? :insane:
