I distinctly remember the lack of support among UGA fans and their administration for Auburn's plight in 2004 ..... oh the irony. That being said, I'm in favor of anybody who is trying to change the system over the mess we have today, regardless of how hypocritical it may appear. The cusrrent system sucks ......
Also I think the point you're missing is I'm not expressing MY PERSONAL VIEWPOINT PERIOD... I was just defending how ONE COULD ARGUE logically that UGA felt a little cheated out of the conf game...... not the nat'l game in particular. UGA finished with the same record, the same conference record, and even beat both teams that tenn lost conference games against. So I think that some UGA "whiners" just felt that they deserved the shot at the SECCG more than TN and a CHANCE to play LSU for the nat'l game. Maybe i wasn't being too clear in my previous posts, I apologize. Since you mentioned the fact that UGA fans were feeling cheated out of the nat'l game I'll chime in with my personal opinion: It's ridiculous. You can't expect to play in the nat'l game without winning your conference... so I can't see any rationale for that argument what so ever.
OU was last to not win their conference and still go the CG, but they did win their division. Nebraska ('01) was the last to not win their division (got raped by CU late that year) and still qualify for CG, thanks (in part) to LSU knocking Tennessee out of the Rose Bowl that year.
I understand but the fact is the rules for determining the Division champ are spelled out in the SEC rule book. It is not a subjective thing. TN won the division based on those rules, so they go to the SEC Championship.
So much to say so little time: We have a playoff, the regular season. You know those 12 pesky little games we play between August and December along with a confence title game. You failed to achieve the right to play for your conference title thus were eliminated from the playoffs. The sad part of all of this Georgia whinning is that under most of the playoff (i.e. +1, 4 team, conf champs) systems that are being thrown around Georgia wouldnt even be a part of it this year, as LSU would have been playing in the Sugar Bowl not Georgia. Its funny how those who feel they were slighted always call for a playoff system that would have included them. Also if you want to whine and cry lets look at the facts here yes you were the "hot" team and you feel that even though you failed to achieve the success of winning even your division you deserve to play in the big game. But under that mentality perhaps the one loss team from the Big 12 i.e. Kansas should have gone over a two loss team. Both failed to win their conference and both failed to win thier division but Kansas is a 1 loss team. For those keeping track 1 loss is better than 2, I know Georgia fans have trouble with this math just like 2 losses and winning the conference is better than 2 losses and failing to win your division. Also for the record 2 losses and winning your conferenceis also better than 2 losses and failing to win your division i.e. VaTech, OU and WVU. In short there were other teams more deserving by the way they played thier entire season than Georgia. Look you UGA had a good year, got lucky that LSU went to the National title games and went to a BCS bowl. Stop whininng and enjoy what you did have instead of complaining about what should have been in your mind and as for your President its funny that he wasn't crying for a play off when Auburn got snubbed or we were the hot team last year. :crystal: :geaux: :crystal:

No I read them all and no matter what your "personal opinion" is I just can't wrap my brain around an opposing teams fan comming in to this board and make the first comments you made without supporting the comments made by the Univesity president and saying we should understand why UGA fans are upset. Its like Herbstreit last night in the post game going people are say but I'm not saying it about the status of the Big 10. Why say it if you don't agree and especially here. As for my comments its not personal, they are a bit of steam being blown off. I have had to listen to UGA fans, the press, the UGA president, players and coaches whine and complain for the last few weeks about their precieved slightof being left out of the Title Game. Y'all had tshirts made up declaring it. After awhile it gets old, real old. Last night LSU played the game of their lives and won the biggest prize in college football with the media saying at times we werent the best team and we didnt belong particuarlly after the Sugar and Rose Bowls. I personally would rather enjoy our win and time in the spotlight and not have to read about other teams, what they felt like they deserved or how the system needs to be changed so they can be included. :crystal: :geaux: :crystal:
hahah Mark May on College Football Live just now. "Stop Whining" I love it. These guys all pointed out that the UGA President did nothing last year or the year before. He has done nothing till it somehow hurts UGA.
