Georgia's President making noise... http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news;...8rjvbYF?slug=txgeorgiaadams&prov=st&type=lgns How's about next time WIN YOUR DIVISION!! That is all. :crystal: :crystal:
Oh come on.... don't act like it's so ridiculous for UGA and its fans to be upset... they lost to SC the 2nd game of the season, and Tenn in the middle... UGA was probably playing the best ball in the nation at the end of the season, had the TN game happened at that time it would have probably been a different story. Also, just a week before the final polls came out UGA was ranked ahead of LSU. I'm not saying this because I'm a fan blinded by the love for his team. From a truly objective standpoint I honestly think that UGA ended up the better team to face LSU in the SECCG, and then let's see who gets to the national game... if we had a playoff structure we could have gotten that LSU/UGA matchup. i really feel like a playoff is needed to put to rest the "what if's" and truly see which team is the best.
Hey, go be upset on your forum. LSU is the outright, BCS, AP, undisputed, uncontested, unforgiven, Damm strong, National Champion.
Yeah sure.. but one could argue that LSU played the best ball of the year late last year, but you didn't see us pissing and moaning about not being in the championship... We knew we didn't make it to the SECCG and that's the reality of it. Nothing against UGA.. I agree they were playing better ball at the end of the year than they had been previously, and I think they were deserving of their ranking. Maybe they would have been a better team to face LSU in Atlanta, but they didn't do what it took to get there. Honestly, I think they were shorted by having to play Hawaii.. I'd have much rathered see them against USC. And I also agree that a playoff would be more accurate as to determining the champion but until that happens, lobbying for your team and basically saying "it shoulda been us!" when they didn't even win their division makes you look rather silly IMHO.
Get over it. We were playing as well as anyone at the end of last year, but we didn't earn the right to play in the NC game. Same goes for UGA and USC this year, played well down the stretch but didn't earn the right. The Rose Bowl, Pac 1 and Big 10 won't allow a playoff anytime soon. We might get lucky with a plus 1 when the current BCS contract expires, but I'm not counting on it. The RB, Pac 1 and Big 10 are big hurdles to overcome.
lol.. did i ever say they weren't? As long as the system is flawed (the BCS) there will be no TRUE way to find out who is the best. As it is setup, yes LSU is the best. Also, a little reading comprehension would be appreciated... I never said I was upset. I never cried "it should have been us!" I just said that the original poster was acting as if the UGA prez was crying like a baby when even from a purely objective standpoint one could see how UGA might be a little miffed.
Can I tell you a secret? The season started Aug. 30th (Sept 1st), not October 6th. This trophy is for the Championship of the ENTIRE season, not the last few weeks.
I agree that Georgia was a team working on all cylinders at the end of the season, but I truely believe that if you don't win your conference you can't compete in the National Title hunt. That killed our chances last year. The BCS needs to write down that damn rule --- No Conference title, No Champ shot. UGA fans can be upset, i understand, but the fact was UGA did not get it done this year. All SEC teams know what they need to do at the start of every year. Look at LSU last year. We were basically in the same boat that UGA is today. Yes we mighted have griped a bit, we we accepted that we just did not get it done to make it to the big dance. We did not call a press conference to cry to the national media.
