Great post. I would add, although I don't follow them, it made good reading seeing how well we did in all other sports as well. Track, tennis, golf, gymnastics, swimming, etc.

 

I think you are reading too much into it.

I just took it as this is the dead period for LSU sports. After baseball is done, there is nothing for 2 months till football starts up. Absolutely we had a great first 1/2 of the year, no one will argue that. Now there is zip.

 

thats what i got out of it. we are now finished with the great sport of baseball, and next is the great sport of football.

but we have to wait....

Well, one can have the perspective that the next several months until football season is going to be a drag... and you have fun with that.

Or, one can have the perspective that the next several months until football season is going to be one the best times of our lives as Tiger fans. How many other times has LSU or any school won back-to-back SEC Championships in the big 3 sports? Just getting 2 of 3 SEC Titles in the big three sports during a 12-month period is AWESOME. Over the last 32 years (a whole generation), only two schools have been able to accomplish this: LSU and Florida. And we did it in amazing fashion, so great that we have now reached a period that 99% of die hard college fans will never be able to experience in their entire lives. Like I said, I'm going to be loving every minute of this great time for the next several months... and there are many, many, many other people that would love to be in the shoes of a Tiger fan over the next several months.

 

That's how I took it as well. Hence the "now" in the title.

I'm with you in spirit, John. You're a great LSU fan and I only kid because I like your posts (most of the time :hihi

But for me, being a fan is about the ACTIVITY of LSU sports, not the idea or the memory of it. So, like many on the board, I loathe this time of year.
