To think that after Thanksgiving people were talking about how Arky marked the beginning of the end of LSU and the beginning of the end of Les Miles at LSU. Miles was too loyal to his assistants, too stubborn, didn't really believe we had defensive problems, lost control of the team, and so on.

Fast forward 6 weeks later, LSU fans are on top of the world with a bowl blowout, Jordan Jefferson emerging as the leader of the QB pack, tremendous coaching hires and a likely Top 3 recruiting class.

I guess the point is it's easy to predict doom and gloom after a bad season. It's not easy to be patient (myself included, definitely) when things don't go your way. We've been truly blessed with all the success LSU has had this decade, and it's looking like this program is going to be a national force for years to come. Enjoy it everyone, these things don't come around very often.

Well if anything it makes the board entertaining and brings the best out of Sabanfan.

Props to Cparso -- was looking at an old thread to day that took place right after the co-dc hire and he said Miles would fire them regardless of how loyal he is if they disappointed. Perhaps we should listen to him next time.

Still fits, and for 6 weeks some of us knew to be patient, for we had trust in the Hat.

The only people talking like this were the ones who have never liked Miles, and Bama fans.

The SEC isn't getting any easier, and I'm sure there will be other dissapointments during Miles' career, but I have no doubt that we'll remain one of the top 10 programs in the country.

Hate to break it to the Bama fans, but they will have their share of disappointments with Saban, even though they had a very good year. And no one has dominated this league consistently since Spurrier's Florida teams, and that sort of thing ain't happening again anytime soon. I just found it amusing how Miles went from the next Larry Coker to a college football mastermind in such a short period of time.

Bama fans, and some LSU fans, still expect him to faulter & be Larry Coker.

I heard Finebaum recently said this season was the beginning of the end for Miles, or something along those lines.
