I watch quite a lot of football. Lee's ineffectiveness makes him little more than a warm body at this point.
Trust me, if they would have lost that game, you would have seen how little it meant. I had no problem with them trying to get Lee to make throws all over the field. But you don't throw it six straight times when the game is very much in doubt and your passing game looks awful. Either way, that's just bad football. At that point, you're not even making the defense think about what is coming. They're just assuming it will be a pass. Three passes and three runs and I think they could have avoided a bunch of these issues.
This. But I still don't give the coaches a free pass for not adjusting earlier when it became clear that Williams and the O-line were dominating and Lee was going to struggle mightily.
The game certainly did mean something. If we had lost that game what bowl do you think we would have been playing in even if we win the next two? In college it's different than the NFL. There a win is a win even if by 1 point. The number of wins is the only thing that counts for playoff seeding. Then it's head to head to see how far you go. Look at the Cardinals last year. They simply got hot at the right time. In college it's different since they have no playoff the judgement as to how good a team is is based much more on subjective things. To them the close loss to Bama was a lot more impressive than the Saturday result. Even to the LSU fans it seems that the LaTech game was yet another example of the coaches not having a clue, especially on offense. Right now it looks like the Chavis hire may have been a season saver for us.
it would not have mattered. lsu beats OM---its to the CapOne. lsu loses to OM--it is to the Cotton. the only way a tech loss would have mattered is if lsu lost the two after it.
Easy! Ummmm.... we.... WON Running it 55 times was obviously NOT required because we WON The result was in a bizarre way what the coaches wanted. They wanted to see if Lee was ready to take the reigns. He is not a standard backup. He started a LOT last year and was expected to pick up right where he left off and perform like he probably did in practice. Turns out he is still a head case (thanks for the support boo-birds). Better to find that out now than when we are down by 4 to Ole Miss with 6 minutes left. Now we put RS in the wildcat when JJ is hurt... Sorry if I am posting the same info on multiple threads, but I just found this one... I don't really want to be an LSU-SIU...
