Big question, do they have a HC (Smith) for that game?

    we've only played two games

2011 Oklahoma was ranked #1 and had a three game stretch where they beat Ball State 62-7, #10 Texas 55-17, and Kansas 47-17...then they lost their next game to a 5-7 Texas Tech game, which was the first of OU's 3 losses (they others were to Baylor and Okla St)

2010 Alabama was ranked #1 and was 5-0 after beating 3 ranked teams: #7, #10 and #18. then they lost to #19 South Carolina who didn't look so hot in their two games before that, barely beating Furman and losing to a #17 team

2008 Southern Cal was ranked #1 after they started their season with back to back blow outs: 52-7 over Virginia and 35-3 over #2 Ohio State ... then they lost their next game to a Oregon State team that had just lost 2 of their first 3 games before that (they lost to a 5-7 Stanford team, 28-36, and got blown out by #19 Penn State, 14-45)

2008 LSU was ranked #3 after starting out 4-0, including starting the season with 2 straight blow out wins: 41-13 over Appy State and 41-3 over North Texas. in their third game, it look like Jarrett Lee had arrived as THE MAN at QB in his performance leading LSU to victory over #9 Auburn at Auburn... LSU would go on to lose 5 games that season and drop out of the Top 25

2007 Oklahoma was #3 after they started their season with four straight blow out wins: 79-10 over North Texas, 51-13 over the Miami Hurricanes, 54-3 over Utah State, 62-21 over Tulsa ... then they lost their next game to a 6-7 Colorado team and later had 2 more losses to Texas Tech (9-4) and West Virginia

2007 Florida was ranked #3 after they started their season with three straight blow out wins: 49–3 over WKU, 59-31 over Troy, and 59-20 over #20 Tennessee... then they struggled vs a 3-9 Ole Miss team before losing 3 of their next 4

2007 Southern Cal was #1 and they started their season with 3 straight blow out wins: 38-10 over Idaho, 49-31 over #14 Nebraska, and 47-14 over Washington State ... then the next game they almost got up set by a 4-9 Washington team (27-24) and then game after that they lost to a 4-8 Stanford team (Stanford was 41 point underdogs in that game)

2007 Ohio State was ranked #1 after they blew out two back to back Top 25 opponents: 37-17 over #25 Penn State and 38-17 over #19 Wisconsin ... then they lost their next game to an Illinois team that had just lost 2 of their previous 4 games, and had just struggled in their victory over Ball St

2006 Southern Cal was #2 after a 4-game after they had a four game stretch where they blew out four teams in a row: 42-0 over Stanford, 35-10 over #20 Oregon State, 23-9 over #19 Cal, and 44-24 over #6 Notre Dame ... they next game they lost to a 7-6 UCLA team

and that's just a few examples, i'm sure i can come up with many more if i wanted to

I'd hate to see the long version.

Didn't Auburn crap out at the start of the 2003 season initially ranked in the Top 5?

Auburn was ranked #6, with one first place vote in the preseason USA Today Poll.

The 2011 Oklahoma sooners lost one of the their key receivers and didn't have a defence to save their life. We have one of the best defences in the country... I'm talking about a mirror image from last year plug a quarterback.

I agree it's early but I sure don't see Florida being a problem. They will struggle to finish 6 & 6. USL could give 'em all they want.

No body in the SEC on LSU & Bama's level. That UF/ A&M matchup was C level.

The third best team in the SEC west is Miss. State... I'm not worried even against South Carolina who struggled against Vanderbilt and is playing with their back up quarterback.

    derp derp

first of all, Broyles played in their first 9 games...that lost to the 5-7 Texas Tech team I was telling you about was in game 7, where Broyles had 84 yards receiving, almost double what he had earlier in OU's win over FSU. besides that, OU's loss of a WR didn't hurt them that much, they still finished #5 in the NCAA in passing offense last year

as for their D, they had the #1 scoring D in the Big 12, and the #2 total D in the Big 12 (Texas was #1), a hell of a lot better than 5-7 Texas Tech's D (#114 in the NCAA), and yet OU lost to them anyway...and then OU lost to Baylor (#116 D in the NCAA) and also Oklahoma State (#107 D in the NCAA)
