    That's a more sophisticated way to say "Oh yeah! . . . "

    i know.

like i have said before, i think the vast majority of people are unwilling to accept what they are. and they are annoyed by themselves and are therefore trying to find ways to think of themselves as better. and religion is a great outlet for this. and so is environmentalism. both are almost equally irrational. the basic premise is that we care about humans so we are interested in maintaining the earth. this is nonsense. there is no chance anyone gives a damn about humankind. it is totally irrational.

What are the vast majority of people denying about themselves? Just curious.

That, in reality, we are all narcissists and don't give a flip about anyone else.

correct. we care about others to the extent that it benefits us. if i am nice to you, it is only because i want you to be nice to me. i do not steal from you, perhaps because i would feel bad about it, this is because evolution has selected this trait because it benefits tribes. to generally care about the human race has no evolutionary basis and is irrational. people only do it so they can think of themselves as the sort of person that cares about things.

some people act like the earth has some inherent value other than its usefulnes for humans. this is like saying you care about how hot saturn is. there is no positive moral value there to care about. its just a thing. but people are very stupid and they anthropomorphize the earth and act like it has likes and desires. its shockingly stupid but is commomly accepted as a normal mainstream view.

once we accept that we only care about the earth inasmuch as it benefits humans, we must accept that there are far more efficient ways to care about humankind. better ways to make humans be happy and to flourish. for example, one of the best ways to end war and suffering is to make democracies. democracies almost never fight each other. so when george bush kills brown people and forces democracy on them, he does more for the earth (meaning humanity) that environmentalists every could in a billion years. but bush, being christianin, believes he should help people. he is wrong, but sincere, and not just a liberal jerkass doing feelgood nonsense.

this explains why some issues are wildly skewed. people attach a moral right or wrong to viewpoints and that sends everybody in the wrong direction. this ruins the debate on hot-button topics like racism and environmentalism, because everyone is scrambling to take the "right" view.

Just noting the fact that nobody is stepping up and supporting you with this notion of "there is no chance anyone gives a damn about humankind".
