Jj has had 20+ starts to learn how to play qb for an sec team. He has shown a few times that he can put together a complete game. We may just have to admit that jj has reached his potential. I feel for the kid in a way. I know he is trying to lead this team. What I can't accept is his attitude at times. I hate to see him pout and he doesn't seam to take responsibilty for his poor play. Every other position on the field pure athletic ability can bail you out. At qb , besides having to quickly read defenses, being a leader of men matters almost as much as athletic ability. You can't be a respected leader when you fail to take responsibility for yourself. Great leaders tend to take responsibility even when things aren't their fault. I blame the coaches for protecting jj's feelings and telling him he's doing fine to try and preserve his confidence. Jj should be allowed to take responsibility for his poor play. I don't quite understand why miles protects jj as he does. It seams very suspicious at times to see jj's starting role not even questioned by the coaching staff. I do not believe that jj can lead this team to a nc alone. Jj showed very little improvement in consistancy. I wish this qb competition was as open as it was reported to be. I do not think it is , was or will be

    Guilbeau doesn't mince words.

Miles' next step: Selling Jefferson for Heisman award

I wouldn't go so far as to say that. Lee hasn't been the QB everyone hoped he would be but last year he was a clutch player that was able to spark the offense when JJ wasn't. Without him backing JJ up, we probably would have lost 3-4 games. We definitely would have lost @ Florida.

I read in the paper today that Jefferson was awarded some spring award for being a standout/leader.

I honestly believe that if Jordan wouldn't have improved vastly in the option/run game last year, that he would not be our quarterback going into this season. I liked what I saw out of him with his mechanics, footwork etc, which is why i believe he will be ok. He isn't going to put up huge numbers, but if we could just get about 160 yards a game out of his arm, I think LSU is going to be spectacular.

How long have we been saying that? Give the kid some time. I know this it's the LAST YEAR. There is no more time for JJ. I like the kid alot but he is very uncomfortable at this level. He does not think quickly.

I said earlier i'm getting tired of making excuses for the dude, and I really wasn't talking about giving Jefferson some time, I was mainly talking about giving Krag some time to straighten him out. Honestly, he stunk as far as accuracy goes, but alot of other things he did, were alot better than last season.

Please don't take the Spring Game as a be all end all of where Jefferson is. He was wearing a glove and had a hurt thumb on his throwing hand. That is going to hinder his accuracy. I liked what I saw from him and maybe Miles has just pulled the Jedi Mind Trick on me, but I am optimistic.

He won the outstanding leader award at the very end of the ceremonies. What I found interesting, especially given the "new and improved" hype, was that he didn't make the "most improved" list.

Jordan may be a great dude. The players may think the world of him. He could be the kind of dude that would give you his last dollar bill. He could be the best friend of everyone. He may be a happy wonderful person to be around and the kind of man that you wish was your brother in law. He is not what LSU needs right now in his developement as qb. Jj needs to either shape up and play ball or get out of the way. Sorry for jj if he can't , great for jj if he can. LSU needs a qb like yesterday.

Prepare yourselves: lots of close games are on the horizion. With luck we win the SEC, with bad luck we lose 3.

Nothing new here, just LSU football.
