but he is just supplementing GC, right? i'm not saying that he'll be the fix to the offense, but there is hope. :hihi:
I'd have to disagree here. I noticed early in the year that his passes were always low. I watched the ball in flight and noticed that the nose of the ball is almost always pointing downward. That will make the pass drop, like a curveball. Remember most of his passes in the bowl game were at the WR ankles or below the knees. That wouldn't be all bad if the WR were allowed to go to the ground to get the ball and get up and run, but in college it isn't allowed. So, the WR were trying to scoop the ball off of the ground while remaining standing and all of them are over 6ft tall, which gave them trouble. Not to mention the mud. If JJ can fix this problem, I think he'll be ok...as long as the coaches stop trying to run the option with him.
yeah i thought more about his mechanics after i posted that... i meant that his "problems" should be easily correctable ones. i should have been clearer.
Ya, but Alleva wrote: "LSU did not win a football championship in 2009, so there is room for improvement...This season, our offense floundered as it slipped to a No. 112 ranking in the nation - a statistic certainly not indicative of a championship-caliber team"
JayB, everybody knows our offense did poorly this year, and Alleva addressed the same thing. Your whining and complaining about it to us isn't helping anything besides making you look like a whiner and complainer. If you want to be more responsible, complain to Alleva about it, not us. Write a letter to Alleva. Do it everyday if you are so upset about it. Like he wrote, they read every letter you write to them.
I thought this paragraph was especially interesting and was sort of surprised no one else had pointed it out. He acknowledges that defense was a problem in 08 and it got corrected. He acknowledges that offense was a problem in 09 and, at least to me, you can put the words "or else" behind that last sentence. I think that's a clear public message to whoever needs to get it -- Coach Miles, Coach Crowton, whoever -- that an offensive repeat of this past year won't be tolerated by the administration. Sun Tzu (and Green Day) would agree with you (and he'd be serious :lol. :geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige
Yep. Les is in charge of our AD now. And we should have no faith in Alleva and all his talk of his goal of fielding Championship teams. Man, LSU sux.
I took the same thing from that last statement, but I am confident that we will see improvement next season on offense, and I think the addition of Gonzalez will go a long way to that end. If not, I believe Miles fate will be tied to Crowton's.:tigereye:
