red, out of curiousity, who do you think will be most responsible (not in job description, but actuality) for this? crowton, or gonzales? because i am really curious if that was part of the reason gonzales was hired and if that will be part of his responsibility.
really mature. all i'm saying is that it makes it tough to discuss things when you have to shoot-down things that are misinterpreted.
Good question but its not going to be Billy Gonzales. How can he be responsible for developing QB's when he's never played or coached the position in his entire career? Im not sure how much of an on the field asset Gonzales will be anyway. He's pretty green in the big scheme of all things coaching. That leaves Crowton.
good points. but wasnt something said about "pass game coordinator"? which, ok, i understand the receivers part of that, but if just the receivers, why not just say wr coach? made me wonder if there was going to be something else he is going to be responsible for? and "pass game coordinator" made me think of the qb's part of the equation also.
i don't think you need to have been a QB to teach one. i'm sure there are people at LSU who could give pointers on mechanics, but that isn't jefferson's problem. his mechanics are OK, his decision making is his culprit. i think billy gonzales can help the passing game. but only if he's allowed room to breathe.
maybe the defensive backfield coach could help out...he sure knows what the weaknesses of the QBs are. ( I'm almost, but not quite serious:hihi:.)
Of course you dont but you should have at least coached them at some point in your career even at a lower level. Gonzales has done neither and isn't qualified to coach QB's in the SEC. Then again, could he be worse then Crowton? Probably not...
