Nothing about this man's tenure here has shown any indication that he's capable of this kind of strategic thinking, but anything's possible.

The proof will be in the pudding, which is how Les' contract and those of his assistants are handled going forward. Alleva can make Les' life as miserable as he wants if he doesn't want to keep him long term (no raise, no automatic rollover, etc.) Cameron's contract is also up, and if he gets an extension then Alleva will have truly gone off the deep end.

Ok. Les deserves a pass, maybe he'll be able to rebound next year.

Out of desperation I mentioned something similar last night, but logic from others pushed me deeper into darkness. Doesn't seem likely, there is no stomach for an up and comer. I guess Alleva didn't have the lesticles after all; they must be hanging in Saban's closet.

Any psychologists around here? I'm wondering how many times I can cycle through the stages of grief.

If Alleva made that annoucement last night, and then went back on it down the rooad in a couple of weeks, the media shitstorm would be even worse. It was last night or never, and if he had really wanted to get rid of Miles, he would have done it last week. The farewell tour in Tiger Stadium did not turn out like he would have liked if his intention was to fire Miles.

Besides, after a bowl game is too late to find a quality replacement when there are so many openings right now in college football.

les needed to go. his deline over the last several years and inability to change warrants that. les would have been gone had alleva & co. not royally effed it up. is that les' fault or alleva's? didn't say he deserved a pass, but it sure looks like alleva gave him one

Someone mentioned that but theres no chance as Miles is now untouchable from Alleva (my opinion). Les is now a made man. No way we, he or LSU go anywhere near the media shit storm again vs Les Miles. Hes a household name. He would have to have a losing record before we could even broach that subject again.

As it stands now, we are a .500 or so middle of the pack SEC west team. We arent terrible but we wont vie for the SECCG again given our current HC's mindset. Beating bama is not even the goal anymore. The bar has been lowered. The goal is to now not lose to either Ole Miss and R-kansas or even Miss St. We are reliving the Charlie Mac days all over again where winning most of our games and going to a decent bowl is the expectation at best.

We get what we deserve for being weak. A slightly above SEC finish with a good guy leading the charge. This is when Les currently has the best offensive line during his tenure and best running back in the nation to run this offense, so hope does not spring eternal for me.

We have become Va Tech. Good team with no chance to sniff the National Championship with a feel-good coach. But at least Beamer didnt take the program completely down with him and did agree to retire before it got there. Justin Fuente is unloading his U-Haul in Blacksburg, when Herman or Fisher or Kelly should be unloading theres here.

This is what Les should have done if he so cared about this program. Ride off into the sunset. But thats not his nature. Change be damned should be his motto because its both whats good and bad about him. He does not only reject change, he spits in the face of it while using Leonard Fournettes head as his battering ram.

Bottom line is social and national media won out in the world of feel good pussification. Les will not only not get fired, he will possibly get a raise and maybe even an extension. We let emotions dictate a really, really big business decision yesterday and will pay handsomely for it in the end.

Because that chance will not present itself again for a rather long time. Even if Alleva is gone.

I am so glad I went to bed, early, in disgust, and did not have to endure trying to sleep on this shit storm.

How can anyone with any degree of lucidity, whatsoever, think this "3d quarter decision" is good for LSU football.

Its like having an old dog, been around for years, needing to be put down due to disease and its feeble nature. But, every time you go to do the right thing, someone tears up, and you keep "Ol Yellow" one more painful, feeble, pitiful day

The point is we threw money at it this guy and now we are up shit creek. Frankly this is one of many reasons why alleva needs to hit the road.
