Hard to argue with that top 5. I don't know about having PP in the top 10; he does not have any national honors yet to back it up. For now, I'll go with Ben Wilkerson, AFCA and Sporting News All-American and Remington Trophy winner.

BTW, I can't imagine anyone breaking Faulk's SEC all-purpose yardage record anytime soon. That's 1700 yards a year for four years.

Ken Kavanaugh is an LSU All American in the College Football Hall of Fame. Got to put him in the top five.

He played in another era, but LSU has no bigger star than Doc Fenton of the legendary 1908 team, also in the College Football Hall of Fame.

Billy The Cannon was not only extraordinarily fast, but he was also extraordinarily strong, and was an extremely hard-nosed tough guy.

    With a great football sense.

It's really hard to argue against anybody on the list, though others could be argued for. I expected somebody to say Y. A. Title.

Yeah I thought Y.A Tittle could be included in the discussion. Kevin Mawae to could be in the top ten but other than that pretty good.

Faneca and McClure also, but like Cajun Sensation pointed out, offensive linemen get no love.

Billy Cannon got me started on LSU football, there is no better football name, and Stovall was my childhood hero. Glad they both made it.

He was before I was born, but indirectly kinda responsible for my passion for the Tigers.
