Basically, rivals is coming out with what they voted as the best player ever at each of the top 100 spots in their rivals100 rankings since 2002. For example, they will vote for players like Vince Young (No. 1 overall in 2002), Ernie Sims (2003), Adrian Peterson (2004), Derrick Williams (2005), Percy Harvin (2006), Jimmy Clausen (2007) and Terrelle Pryor (2008) as their potential best player ever that ended up #1 at the end of their particular recruiting season. So far, LSU is representing very well with 7 players in the top 70. They have yet to publish the top 30, as we will see those in the coming days. #99 Kyle Williams #97 Jared Mitchell #87 Laron Landry #79 JaMarcus Russell #67 Joseph Barksdale #50 Charles Scott #47 Glenn Dorsey Rivals Top 100 Players going into the 2009 season: #87 Rahim Alem #68 Brandon Lafell #51 Charles Scott #48 Ciron Black They are currently at #35. I don't suspect we will see another LSU player on this list.
It's incredible to think that Mitch Mustain had Tim Tebow running behind him, not to mention guys like Jevan Snead and Jake Locker. I was just thinking about this because I couldn't remember where Tebow would check in. He'll assuredly be the best 22 ever unless I'm forgetting someone pretty damn spectacular.
