Of the top 15 all time MLB home-run hitters, 7 of them are steroid era cheaters

    1 Barry Bonds762
    2 Hank Aaron * 755
    3 Babe Ruth * 714
    4 Alex Rodriguez 665
    5 Willie Mays * 660
    6 Ken Griffey, Jr. 630
    7 Jim Thome 612
    8 Sammy Sosa 609
    9 Frank Robinson * 586
    10 Mark McGwire 583
    11 Harmon Killebrew * 573
    12 Rafael Palmeiro 569
    13 Reggie Jackson * 563
    14 Manny Ramirez 555
    15 Mike Schmidt * 548

    These great players have been deprived of being in the top 15;

    16 Albert Pujols 537
    17 Mickey Mantle * 536
    18 Jimmie Foxx * 534
    19 Willie McCovey * 521
    20 Frank Thomas * 521
    21 Ted Williams * 521
    22 Ernie Banks * 512

I think it's a damn shame, and it burns me up every time I see the list.

Albert Pujols is still playing. I think his career will last long enough for him to hit another 47 and take the #10 spot from Mark "Eve of Destruction" McGwire

He is also probably 10 years older than what we think. Aren't his numbers way down? St. Louis did right by letting him go even if tirk doesn't agree.

Oh I agree. He's no harden. But poojoles numbers are up this year in the power dept. And the Dominicans are all 5-10 years older.

And St Louis is a machine. They can win with red at ss and Bengal B throwing puss.

Of course many of the others played with speed to allow them to do better. No one chooses to remember but they cheated as well. Also many of the PED hitters were facing PED pitchers like Clemmons, Petite and who know who else. IMO we have to take the numbers as they are. Players like Bonds and Rodriguez are no doubt amount the greatest before and in spite of their PED use.
Is there evidence that Thome used? If not I'd hate to have him maligned just because of when he played.

Same with Ken Griffey Jr. Never any suspicion or evidence of PEDs but will always be some doubt because of the era he played.

I think Pete Rose and all of the PED guys should be inducted into the Hall but in a special Asterisk wing. Other items such as Maris breaking Ruth's single season HR record could also have a display. Was that the original asterisk for MLB?
