People can call it what they want about JJ. He is not our problem. I think he has managed the game well based on what he has been given. The kid is still learning. He has a rocket for an arm and seems to be very calm and collected under pressure. By this time last year Lee probably had 3 pick 6's under his belt. Our problem as has been stated is that we are getting beat at the point of attack on both sides of the ball. All the highly recruited kids are getting playing time early in their careers. The problem is most of them haven't bulked up like they will in the next year or two. The truth is QB is the key position on any football team. Heck, look at Washington. They go 0-12 with Locker out for most of the year. He comes back for his senior year and he's got UW to a 2-1 start and gave us all we could handle. Look on the flip side, USC will struggle this year with a wealth of talent all around two young QB's. JJ will come around. He has all the tools. It's just going to take some time. Growing pains hurt. This is no exception.
? anyways, i think most realize there are lots of little things that can/will be improved. its not like there is one person holding the team back.
The guy is obsessed with not throwing pick 6's, so he ends up holding on to the ball to long. as it is, the guys should have 5 or 6 more INTs...he's just been really lucky. Managing the game is one thing...playing scared is another.
F u in LSU's 2003 and 2007 years all LSU needed was a QB who could manage the game.. F U LSU BABY TILL IT DIE.....
I think the problem people are going to have is he has not improved in the pass from the pocket and he is actually regressing in the option plays. Either way it's his team for now.
F u in LSU's 2003 and 2007 years all LSU needed was a QB who could manage the game.. But JJ didnt win this game. The defense won the game. Im not saying i want J Lee in the game. But If JJ is gonna play scared, and either hold on to the ball too long or throw ill advised passes...i want to see what Shep can do. they still havent let him throw the ball.
18/27 211 yrds and a pick. All that with 6 drops from his receivers. I don't hink you can ask for much more from him. Plus he made some good plays with his feet. Got sacked 6 times, three were on him IMO, but three were not. He is coming along nicely if you ask me.
I am not kicking him... but it was a bad game. I mean even if he was running the option correctly you would have had quite a few more first downs. Look, I am not saying he shouldn't be in there... to me it's his team... but he has not improved with his pocket passing and his option play is horrible right now. I have seen no improvement at all, but we can agree to disagree.
His biggest problem is lack of pocket presence. He forced the ball to Dickson and got it picked, but that isn't commonplace with him. I'll let that one go and hope he learns from it. He's got to get the mental clock going that lets him know when to throw. He also needs to learn he can't stop on a rollout or he's going to get blindsided. I really wish we could get Drew Brees to give him some tips on pocket presence.
Jordan is progressing better than most would given his youth. The guy is a gamer and has a rocket. I don't care if he is scared about throwing pick sixes b/c guess what he's NOT throwing pick sixes. when our O line starts blasting off the line and we run like we did at the beginning of this game then all is well.
