Last season Blue had 6.75 ypc, 100 yard games in his each of his first two games, with 7.69 ypc v North Texas and 7.21 ypc vs Washington (for the season, North Texas allowed an avg of 4.97 and Washington 4.42) Year before, Blue had 6.91 ypc ( 539 yards rushing total)
TJ Yeldon played in 14 games. Jeremy Hill played in 10. Still, Hill scored 12 rushing TD's in 10 games....the same as Yeldon in 14 games. When you take this into consideration (which you should), then they have VERY similar numbers. And like I said, Yeldon is the one that gets all the props. Yeldon also had the luxury of playing behind a DOMINANT O-line while Hill was playing behind a patched up makeshift O-line with tons of uncertainty. Not to mention, Yeldon would be put into the games after Eddie Lacey already wore the opposing defenses down....so all things considered, TJ Yeldon played more games and had more luxuries afforded to him that Hill did not....yet Hill still scored more TD's per game.
Yeldon was Bama's #2 RB last year. Their #1, Lacy, got most of the TDs...he had 17 TDs - tied for #1 in SEC with Gurley. This year, Yeldon is the #1
In terms of raw talent, I think Hill has no equal in the SEC. His combination of size, speed, and agility is rare. He is very similar to an Alley Broussard or Cecil Collins.
You're saying that we should throw out total yards and YPC and just look at TDs per carries Look at the NFL last year, Adrian Peterson was #1 in total yards and ypc, but got beat by a lot of RBs in TDs per carries One of the many RBs that beat AP in TDs per carries was Mikel Leshoure who had 1 TD per 23.9 carries, while AP only had 1 per 29.0 So using your logic, we can throw out AP's superior total yards and ypc and say all these other RBs were actually just as good because they had more TD per carries That's what you're doing with Yeldon and Hill...and what makes it even more silly is that Yeldon was not Bama's go-to back last season, while Hill was that for us (Hill had double the TDs as our next guy, and 3 times as many as our 3rd best guy)
My whole point is that Yeldon & Hill had similar numbers. Yeldon gets jerked off because he plays at Bama while Hill doesn't even get mentioned. My point remains valid and I supported it with facts. Damn, even LSU fans want to jerk Yeldon off. Fuck that guy and fuck Alabama.
