I have to agree with clair too. It's obvious that our QB situation is horrible, but we all knew it was gonna be after RP flaked out on us.

This game was lost by our PATHETIC defense. This defense reminds me of the Lou Tepper days.....the bend and break defense.

We put absolutely put no pressure on the qb. Even when we blitz they can't seem to get to the qb. The linebackers are by far the worst in the country. They look lost every play.

I was at the game yesterday, and you could tell the defense was confused. Right before every snap, they're all looking at each other as if they're asking "what do i do?"

I know we have the talent on D, i have to believe it's the scheme. IMO i think Les has to go get a DC. And one with an aggressive, attacking style of defense. Not this sit back and watch the other team go by crap that we're running now.

Our problems go way beyond an inexperienced QB and a defense that gives up way too many points.

That's all I'm going to say.

Come on Red, you know what they are:

    - The Co Defensive Coordinator. Two in charge equals no one in charge.

    - Watching on TV I don't see any examples of leadership on the field. I don't see anyone gettting in anybody's face when they screw up.

    - Making a tackle after a 12 yard gain and acting like it was a game saver. Too much emphasis on me, me, me, and not enough on team, team, team.

    - Don't see that "fire in the belly" I've seen from Les. Complacency?? I don't think so, but if it's not complacency, what is it?

    - I can accept an inexperienced QB making mistakes. But what does it take for him to get off looking at his prime receiver when the huddle breaks. If I see it, you bet the opposing coaches see it.

    Want more?

I firmly believe that this is a big part of the problem. We should have a 4th year junior quarterback who was last year's SEC Championsip game MVP leading the team, not a redshirt freshman. The LSU defense certainly has tons of room for improvement but a good offense helps out a defense.

Clair since you aren't going to respond until mid-week, I blame all of LSU's problems on TO's at times childish behavior and poor attitude, Romo's inability to take elevate his game to the "next level" and Wade Phillips' failure to marshal all of the talent he has on his team.

What is so mysterious about banging up your shoulder on a QB sweep against MSU?

And as far as our weapons on defense, here's a question for you.
Why were they considered weapons last year?
Tyson Jackson, Kirston Pittman, Darry Beckwith, Jean-Francois, Curtis Taylor, Chad Jones are all playing below the level they were playing a year ago. Everyone of them has regressed this season for some reason.

We made Stafford, Moreno, Tebow, Harvin, Demps, Rainey, and Green all look like they should be starting on Sundays right now. If we just slow (not even stop) a couple of them down, we're undefeated. Even with below average QB play.

After reading all of the "experts'" posts and having watched the games myself, I have completed my analysis and can honestly offer the best explanation: Georgia and Florida are better than LSU right now. Hard to believe, I know, but it is what it is. You may all bow to my genius.
