I disagree with you here. The reason being that Lee wasn killing LSU. Keeping him at QB too long shook his confidence. Bringing in JJ could have sparked the team. Its chance you have to take. If he comes in and bombs then so be it, we had nothing to lose and everything to gain. Instead by sticking with Lee LSU lost some games it could have won. It also put Lee in a horrible position and destroyed his confidence. Even if JJ doesnt play well it might have sparked Lee. Either way JJ should have come in earlier in the season.

I think their philosophy going into the situation was way different than the casual fan. They felt good about putting a RS on JJ and put their faith in a veteran like Hatch. It didn't work out that way.

No I read that. The only reason I quoted you and not anyone else is because..
    1. You lost the TFFL crown
    2. You commented on his redshirt which was the first comment I was gonna make the rest just seemed to flow from the keys and I was afriad I might lose it if I tried to start another post!:hihi:

    This is what gets me.

If this was their intentions and our coaches are SO SMART. WHY oh WHY did they Burn his redshirt in the North Texas game?

I dont get it either they never intended for him to redshirt OR they ****ed up!

I too would have preferred to have JJ redshirt. Under the circumstances he should have played much earlier though. Also I agree it was ridiculous to blow it in a gimme game if you really wanted to redshirt him. If you gonna blow the redshirt at least make it worth the while and let the kid play when LSU was in desperate need of better QB play.

They may not have originally intended to RS him.
But after banging up his shoulder against MSU, and he had to miss some time in practice, they felt it was the right move.
Unfortunately, Lee collapsed during this time AND Hatch got hurt.
No one saw that coming until after it happened.
Yet everyone wants to look back now and say "what idiots our coaches are for not doing it differently."

    They got it wrong.
Name one coaching staff that has never made a bad personell choice that ultimately cost his team games.

I still question that whole "hurt" issue. I think that was more to sell the medical after the burned his redshirt.

I cant but there are some posters here that are under the impression that our coaches are infallible and in no way could have made a mistake in their choices this season mainly in refrence to the QB play!

And they could easily admit to this without throwing anyone under the bus. There needs to be some form of accountablity in reguardes to this season and there hasnt been.

possible, but he did land kind of hard on it on that run vs MSU.
may not have been serious, but just enough to keep him out of practice which possibly slowed his development.

I expect our coaching staff to make mistakes. Everybody's does.
What killed us were that the QB thing and a bad Defense happened in the same year.
If only one or the other had happened, we would have a decent season.

Would you rather be OSU and lose back to back MNC games, or Vandy who hasn't sniffed a conference title since a couple years after World War ONE?
