Had all the info that has come out since his draft been available or known to NFL scouts and owners, I think it would have been an issue for some teams. Mario Williams still went #1 so it's not like he wasn't expendable. There are plenty of players like Ricky Williams, Michael Vick, and Pacman Jones who have been exactly this kind of distraction and it's why character can still count. Consequently, Adrian Peterson is proving to be one top rated RB who is actually delivering.
im pretty sure everyone outside of cambodia and los angeles was well aware reggie likely took hundreds of thousands long before the draft.
Hard to put myself back in time and remember what I knew or thought I knew but the very first report of the allegations did not become public until just 5 days prior to the signing of Mario Williams. Doing my best not to see things through Cardinal and Gold glasses, I don't think that initial report was enough to say that everyone was well aware or that it was likely.
That's because college and NFL are two different games. McFadden's speed will be neutralized in the NFL and he isn't the type of back to pound out the yardage. I tend to agree with the experts.
wasnt just the 40. dmac had a better overall combine than adrian peterson. so if the combine does what its supposed to dmac is a top 2 pick.
This combine and the analysis coming out of it has become really confusing to me. The info about Steltz not being a hitter? Are you kidding me? I can agree with some of the coverage issues, but being aggressive and hitting hard wouldn't be problems. The only person I've seen hit harder was none other than Laron Landry (who hit so hard he kept getting fined in the NFL last season.) I think McFadden is better than they are projecting. For two seasons, he ran roughshod over our defense. Inexplicably, Nutt could underutilize him at times, though. As for Highsmith, I also feel like he can play, but this combine for him is a disaster.
