And he's in! Congrats to a great Tiger!! http://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2012/05/former_lsu_star_charles_alexan.html#incart_river
He was a junior when Earl Campbell won the Hiesmen. Many thought Charles was as good or better than Earl. He was also modest and a first class person.
Colorado was well represented in this years class. Guard John Wooten - CU, Greg Meyers - CSU DB, and Scott Thomas AFA DB. I saw Thomas when he played for the Falcons in the mid 80s. He was a little smaller than Ronnie Lott, but like Lott when he hit you, you knew it.
Seems like he should have been in years earlier however the list of guys still waiting is pretty impressive. It is like they want too make deserving players wait a long time. I love Alexander for what he did on the field and for everything he meant to LSU. Such a humble, courageous, strong player and man. His senior year everyone in the stadium knew he was going to get the ball and he kept battering the line of scrimmage and getting his 4 yards. I remember one of UGA's linebackers applauding Charles after a battle, saying he was the toughest runner he had ever faced.
