2 star OL from Tennessee commits to LSU after his visit. (This is on another thread, but I thought it deserved it's own).

We've been on him for a while, but he's never seemed like a big priority. My guess is this means we're out of it for McClain & need assurances of some depth.

Another under-the-radar recruit reeled in by us. I don't know if it means we're out of it for McClain, but more like we'll only take one of McClain or Shugarts. I think if McClain wants to come aboard, we'll probably ask someone else to take a greyshirt or something.

There may be more to come in a bit.

so far this staff has done an excellent job of evaluating a very difficult to judge position - this guy is likely in the same mold

Well,, at least he has size & had several big time schools after him... I see Patchan, McClain, Glenn, Thomas & Shaw all still available & rated much higher than Hurst. That's kinda been the trend this year. Strange..

The best thing is that he can read and write. He is fully academically qualified. I hate having to wait on kids who have to work on grades. It shows alot of character when you have good grades. Geaux Tigers.

Watch where he's rated at the end of the year. I guarantee you he won't be a 5.3 rated two-star. The kid had literally no videos available, which explains his low ranking, but with LSU, Tennessee, and Notre Dame all recruiting him hard, you know he's worth something. New rankings come out soon, and I'd bet he gets a 3rd star.

I'm just a little surprised... I have been hearing that with just a handful of scolarships left that LSU would be very very stingy with who they give the remaning rides too.. So a two star is surprising.. as I said earlier.. he is huge & tall so there has got to be a up side to him... & from the thread I hear he has good grades... what do I know... go tigers.. Florida game was awesome so I thought everone would want to come here... hehe ... I know I would...

I saw that his bench is only listed at 270, he squats 450, so he will have to gain some strength over time to contribute--unlike Ciron Black. I couldn't find a camp measurement on his height. Sometimes they claim 6-6 when they are actually 6-4, but he may be close to 6-6 judging by his build if he weighs around 310. I hope someone can give us some more info on him and why we think he will be a good one. The last I saw was that he wasn't offered by any premiere programs besides us, but that may have been outdated info. It always makes me a little nervous when their home state doesn't offer, ie. Tennessee. I think this move caught most of us by surprise and this isn't the first time it has happened this recruiting class. People are on such a high after beating Fla that they are letting the coaches slide on this decision, but had we lost there would be a lot of ranters questioning the offering of a 2 star OL. But with Mr. 2 star Jacob Hester leading us to victory it is perfect timing to announce his verbal.

he has offers from UT, Notre Dame, and LSU...and some smaller schools - neither service has film on the kid, and if there is no film there is no possibility of a high ranking
