You don't really believe that selling alcohol would make prices go up do ya? The profit from beers sales would outweigh the increase in insurance ten fold. I wouldn't be for the selling of alcohol in the stadium because I think 4-8 hours of tailgating is plenty enough time for people to get drunk. But then I also think it's somewhat arbitrary to let fans in the suites and club to drink but forbid everyone else.
i think the same people that have been sneaking in alcohol for years are going to continue doing the same thing even if they are offered an over priced beer. i don't know exactly how much the liability insurance would go up, but i am sure it would be really significant.
I haven't heard one way or the other, but it wouldn't surprise me if they do. They are going to do whatever they can to get butts in the seats, and if they already allow beer to be sold at an on campus venue, what's to stop them from selling it at an off campus site like Ladd? The Senior Bowl has beer.
I know UL is selling beer this year to boost revenue and to get the tailgaters in from their RVs and tents. I always laugh at halftime the the stadium empties because people are going out to their cars to pound beers for 15 minutes.
