pretty sure Nicholls still sells beer at their place. haven't been there in 11 or 12 years, so that may have changed.
We had a beer pub in the LSU Union in the 70's and another in the Hatcher Hall basement. Then they raised the drinking age to 21 and got rid of them. Damn shame.
you beat me to it nootch. and that is correct. you can buy mich ultra (why? i dunno) in the union and coors light at manning field at john l. guidry stadium. or at least you could last time i've been to a game (3 or 4 years ago.) coors light is/was a big sponsor too as i remember it.
My understanding is that the SEC forbids the sales or consumption of alcohol at SEC-hosted sporting events. LSU would need for the SEC to change that policy in order to sell beer at the games. At the Sugar Bowl, the beer does flow even when the SEC has (as usual) a team playing, because it's not considered an SEC event.
My roommate and I were trying to decide if we wanted Power Hall or Hatcher Hall. Both had A/C. Power was newer and closer to the girls. Hatcher had beer but was older and not as nice. We chose Hatcher. Monday Nite Football was fun in the basement. :thumb:
'The Rock'. Anyway, I agree with you. I went to a game there one time and was able to hold a conversation with my cousin and we were across the field from each other.
wouldn't all this selling of alcohol defeat the purpose of getting shmammered beforehand? or the thrill of sneaking it in (i don't do this because if you get caught, they waste it). either way, i drank alot of beer and yelled really loud this one time, and it gave me a huuuuuge headache. lesson learned
