Its about the best 2 teams!

Because if Oklahoma State can knock off that badass Iowa State team, then by far they are better than Bama and one of the best two teams!

Because they surely would be in the National Championship Game had they won that game, so by all these idiots logic, beating Iowa State makes Oklahoma State one of the best 2 teams.

I didnt know that a win over Iowa State can give you that kind of claim to fame!

My whole point is if you win you don't have to worry about the voters. Both these teams lost. They put it in the voter's hands. It is the system. Someone has to play us in the championship game. It is subjective to who is the second best team. Your opinion may be it's OK St., someone else's is it is Alabama.

I don't necessarily agree with the conference championship thing though. If a team is better than another they should play for championship. Just because a team played in the toughest division in college and lost one game to the #1 team does not make them a worse team than a conference champion that lost to a 6 and 6 team.

Isn't the point of the BCS to put the two best teams in the championship game? You may not agree with who they chose but it is what it is at this point. Lets just get ready to beat Alabama and prove the season should have just ended after the SEC championship :grin:

 

Well, I am kind of over arguing but I'll make one last point. You say that you agree it should be the best 2 teams right?

So does every analyst and every voter, it’s about the best 2 teams.

So, by that logic, does that mean Oklahoma State should still be ranked 3rd even if they were 12-0 and didn’t lose to Iowa State.

Can you honestly sit there and say, that because Oklahoma State beat mighty Iowa State, that they are better than Alabama and should be considered one of the 2 best teams?

Because, by putting the 2 best teams in the National Championship based on an opinion(not what they did on the field), we should just take the pre-season rankings of who is #1 and who is #2 and put them in title game each year.

Because that is all this is about, is opinions.

It’s in everybody's opinion that Alabama is better than Oklahoma State, and No win over Iowa State was going to or SHOULD change that for that matter. Regardless of the outcome of that game, Alabama is better.

So why even have the polls? Why even have the race?

Just pick your best two, and put them in there, everything else is pointless.

This is crazy talk. The better team is the one that had the most points on the score board. Very easy to understand that one.

 

Any time you put human voters in the scenario of picking the best of something, it is about opinion. Is it your opinion that OK State is better than Alabama? I'm still not sure who I think is better. I think they should play each other to see who gets the right to play us to be honest. I know that won't happen.

Btw, I don't disagree with you that the system is kind of screwed up, but it's better than what we used to have and it is all we have at the present time.

 

I'll agree the system (If we can call it one) is better than it once was. But I'll leave it at that. I guess, I am just used to college football being you lose, you’re out, its "Congrats, see ya next year"

I am not saying that OKST is better, but I believe that the BCS had an opportunity to go either way here. And if they had gone the way of giving OKST the opportunity that Alabama already had, they would have salvaged a little bit of tradition and passion we have left in college football. The beauty of winning your conference and earning the right to represent your conference in the big dance.

They not only took that, but they also set things up for even more controversy if Alabama were to win. It just took a chunk of college football soul from me, that is all.

I am over it, and just like conference expansion I have to accept it and move on.
