Doesn't change the fact that Bama is the #2 team in the country. Whether fans like it or not the system worked.

No teams with a loss to unranked teams have valid arguments to play on Jan 9th.

I love that the entire country is arguing and debating who best deserves to be LSU's bitch in the national championship.

I don't think they were expecting such a heavy dose of option. We knew what they were going to do. Advantage in a rematch goes to Bama imo.

Doesn't matter that they weren't expecting it; they just aren't built to slow down the option. Their LBs are too big (and therefore not fast enough) to defend it adequately. See also: Ga Southern.

On what basis? Like I said, we've actually gone up against everything they've got.

i think advantage to us if Jlee was in our back pocket.

LSU is more dynamic on offense and obviously special teams.

so big plays usually make the difference in a close game.

I think turnover differential favor us as well on D although their defense is better yardage wise.

comes down to stopping #3 and #42 again. keep them from busting big plays and we have a great shot.

There are similarities in effectiveness and aggressiveness, but that's about it. Those are strong similarities mind you. We have similar philosophies, but very different styles. They run an aggressive 3-4 where they typically send 4-5 guys on the pass rush, keep the two ILB home for run support, and sport a strong secondary that allows the pass rush to happen. Their secondary saves their pass rush, because their pass rushers are not THAT good this year. They're good, but not great. Their secondary is great. They disguise a lot of their blitzes in an attempt to fool the offense, but in the end, the pass rush typically comes from the same place.

We run an aggressive 4-3. Not a great deal of disguising, but some. We have a great secondary AND a great front 4. Our LBers are better than advertised. We depend on speed. They depend on power. We both require discipline. But we're more aggressive.

We both employ run first offenses, but theirs is predicated on one guy. Ours, not so much. I think McCarron is really, really good. But they won't know how good because their receivers suck. We're pro style for the most part, with a lot of I-formations and a lot of fullback offsets, but we use a fullback on almost every designed run play. Bama, not so much. Mostly two tight end sets with a lot of motion. Bama is exclusively pro-style, with a pretty wretched wildcat mixed in using Maze. We're a mixture of pro-style and zone-read with JJ at the helm. Again, philosophical similarities. But very different styles.

So no sir, we are not a junior to Bama at anything. If you're a true fan, you should never want to claim that. But if you must, go ahead and call Bama your daddy. I'll stay over here and call them my bytch.
