Are we talking the #1 team who just lost their first game? Our basketball team is well deserving of criticism. We have what some call the best college basketball player in years, consensus projected #1 NBA prospect, and we're 50/50 on making the tourney. This could have been one of our few signature wins, instead it's another quality loss. Pretty sorry.
No, we're talking about a very young team trying to get a win against a hot team on the rise (won 6 of 7 games). Both teams are on the bubble. Fan expectations are, as usual, too high, and too critical. Offering criticism or disappointment is one thing, but calling out the coach every time a team doesn't meet expectations is old, unhelpful, and quite honestly disloyal. That's my personal opinion. While BS is considered a top talent, he is still a freshman, and is clearly not ready to dominate as many thought. He's a disher, and needs to be in the right situation to succeed. Probably needs chemistry that only time can provide. What's sorry is the lack of loyalty and support on this forum. We're like 4-20 in that department despite the talent level.
Well, like the #5 team, UNC, we did not play well enough in the second half. We lost when we were favored. Roy Williams should be fired, too. His players didn't get the ball down in the paint where they could dominate and got beat by a gritty Duke team.
