Take away Lee's 4 interceptions in 08' and that may have had a different outcome JJ was all over Bama the 1st 3 quarters in 09' then left with an ankle injury (not too mention the clear pick that PP had and was missed) Lee did have one HUGE toss last year, but there is no saying that if he didnt come in we would have lost. We outplayed Alabama on almost every level last year
All this for a JJ plug? And by the way do you know how to use a period? Are you familiar with the term "paragraph"?
It seems to me that JL matches up against Bama much better than JJ does. JL is more vertically-oriented; he can throw deep which keeps the defense honest and balanced on a "vertical" basis. That will open up the defense for what we do best, the power run game. JJ has nice "horizontal" speed for the option, but Bama's linebackers will shut that down. That's why they don't run the option in the NFL; big fast linebackers will stop it.
I agree. JJ's running ability is pretty much uselss against Bama. Anyone who watched Bama stuff the number 1 running offense in the SEC last weekend will attest to the fact that it will take a good passing QB to pop that cork. As you noted ... Bama's linebackers are just too dang good for an option style run game. We don't need another offensive year that depends on the defense to win the game. That's what we put up with last year. So far this year, the offense has held its own, putting up multiple scores. 6 TDs through the air. .. should be more if not for the dropped passes. I don't know folks .. I just have a bad feeling about all this. I have a feeling that we are about to return to the 3-out wonder that we've been for the last two years. Hopefully .. I'm wrong. We'll see this Saturday.
