Too weird to me that Akiem Hicks is back in the state of Louisiana, now as a Saint. Regardless, welcome to the Saints Mr. Hicks.

For some reason, I don't remember him at LSU. Did he ever make it onto a roster? If so, what year?

Never played a down. Which was a good thing in the end.

Little more background from an excerpt is below and don't forget a coach at LSU was dismissed directly from the 'recruiting issue.'

Hicks began his NFL odyssey in 2007 by enrolling at Sacramento City College. Following the 2008 season he was considered a top junior college recruit and chose to enrol at LSU over Oregon, Arizona and Tennessee. But Hicks never played for the Tigers, sitting out the 2009 season after getting caught up in a recruiting scandal involving a former assistant coach providing Hicks unauthorized transportation and free and discounted lodging. There were also violations regarding impermissible phone calls.

WOW... the NCAA is really protecting the integrity of the game there.

The youth of America is threatened by too much phone time. And the guy was already over three hundred pounds...the coach had no business buying him a couple of Big Macs !!

We'll now get to see what we could have had in Hicks. Too bad he got caught up in the DJ McCarthy garbage.
