LSU has a system where ticket holders can sell their unused tickets online through LSU to people wanting tickets. Really, LSU is doing whatever they can to prevent no-shows. http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=240819
Goddamn straight, I stayed till the end and didn't get home until 8:30, and then I hear all the people who watched in the air conditoning talk about it like it's an embarrasment that the crowd wasn't up to snuff. There were tickets for sale, get your candy asses up and out to the stadium with us and sweat.
I watch at home in the AC. I do "leave" at half though. I go outside and play in the garden, do some yard work, etc. I do it to stay conditioned to leave early when I do get a chance to go to games. You know what they say, "Practice like you play."
Let's get a boot camp going for LSU fans. Harden these people up. I wanna see call callouses, blisters and heat rashes.
My 12 year old son and I sat in the north endzone. My son was so excited we were inside the stadium 1 hour before the game. I emptied my wallet with purchases of bottled water and cups of ice but we endured the heat until Mett's final kneel down. Maybe it was a little deceiving to me, but the stadium didnt look as empty as it had in the past few weeks. And it seemed that crowd noise was playing a factor against the Florida offense who was called for delay of game a few times late in the game.
There was a breeze that started at the end of halftime and it came and went sporatically. I find we didn't get any real relief until 3:30 to go in the third quarter.
@LSUBillMartin: Who says @LSUfball struggles in home day games? Since 2010, LSU is 9-0 in @LSUTigerStadium day games. All 9 vs SEC teams, 6 vs. Top 25
I was at the game. And the temperature might have been in the mid 80s, but that is not how it felt. That sun made it feel like 100, it was very hard to stay out there for the first half. Also they had the gates all messed up, there were thousands waiting to get in at gate 1-3. It took us 30 minutes to get into the stadium. There was only 4 minutes left in the first quarter when we got to our seats. The gate problem was a total CF. We ran out of water late in the second quarter and after we scored the second touchdown we headed down for more water and a break from the sun. The ramps were lined with people just siting on the ground getting out of the sun. If you had kids, you had to get out of that sun. A guy in front of us with his two little girls and wife only lasted about 5 minutes. He had to get his kids out of that heat. A few minutes after the third quarter started the clouds blocked out the sun and the game was much more enjoyable. The only place that was noticeable empty was behind the band. There were tickets everywhere for sale, we got them within minutes of showing up. My brother sat at field level, he felt no breeze. You only felt a breeze if you were up a bit.
I believe our last home day loss was in 2008 against Ole Miss. Most of our losses are day games on the road.
