With the lead they have in the BCS I doubt they even drop a spot if they lose. On a side note, Herby said aTM has a better shot at beating Bama than we do. Guess he didn't see how LSUs D shut them down.
There is no way in hell they don't fall below us if they lose. If they don't drop to at least 5 this shit is majorly fixed.
Bama is 88 points ahead of Oregon in the AP and 84 points in the Coaches... and unanimous #1 (60), and (59) in both as well. Honestly at best they'd probably fall no further than 2nd, but I highly doubt they'd drop out of 1st.
Unless the voters just want to completely throw the BCS' last shreds of credibility out with the bathwater, no way a one-loss Bama is put ahead of undefeated KState, Oregon and ND.
Quite frankly, in retrospect, any time a Divison 1 FBS teams goes undefeated gate to gate, they are rewarded. Boise State and Utah both did it multiple times and guess what? They are now in BCS conferences. People always remember 14-0. Auburn did it. Tulane did it. They are legends. BCS "title" or not.... perfection is perfection. That's all the fans really want. The BCS is the best system that has existed or will exist. Quite frankly, the 4 team playoff is only taking the luster away from the bowl games. It was perfectly fine the way it was.
Maybe not, but would they still merit a ranking ahead of us? I guess it would depend on they way the game went. If they missed three field goals and turned it over at the goal line and lost by three, voters might still feel like they're the better team. If we happen to win by seven or more in a clean game, maybe not.
Not so sure about that this year. ESPN is scroggin' over Spurriers comments about Bama could beat a few NFL teams, and ran with the story. Pretty sad really that anyone could actually believe that. My point is basically the extent at which the sports media strips down and eagerly gets in bed with them. Looking at their schedule for '11/'12 besides LSU, who the hell do they play to get this love fest?
