Dameon Mason I think is pure SG/SF (played that at Marquette), so, he's a much needed outside guard presence to fill the role of SG after D.Mitch leaves. I heard he's broken his thumb and so is not practicing, but I think I've seen him on the Tigers' bench--wonder how he's looked in practice before the injury.

As for Manzano, he sounds like an interesting candidate too. Juco, so he gives the Tigers an experienced shooting guard to go along with Dameon and Garrett Temple. But, from what I'm reading here, he's another "athletic" "streaky" guard/smallish wingman who slashes and scores in spurts. Probably Butch and Brady know what they're doing if other legit D-1 programs are looking. But, I can't help but wonder... are we ever going to sign a "pure" SG? One who is 6-4-6'6" and can hit 45% of his threes? I still think we need a good athletic perimeter defender who can just knock down the 3 to balance our inside guys. Garrett Temple might develop into that guy, b/c he did hit one three last night and seems to be pretty comfortable outside guarding folks. But, you'd like to see a SG in the LSU line up pick up 15-17 points per game. Dameon might be that guy next year, but you'd like to see another... Imagine what a JJ Redick could do with our athletic frontline!:bball:
