He certainly did. Many times we didnt get pressure on boeckman but the coverage was exceptional. Our ability to lock them down in m2m coverage was the most obvious difference. Whoever didnt see a speed difference on d watched a diff game than me.
I said before the game the reason he gets so many tackles is because their D-line sucks. They were blocked for most of the game. I don't think the kid is a fluke, he knows how to tackle and has great instincts.
Our O-line was too dominant, just like the entire season, we weren't gonna be denied on 3rd and short...Our O-line got the big push every single time...I think their O-line was overrated, in my opinion Arky's and UT's O-line are better.
Laurinaitis is 6'3", 240 lbs. That's not undersized for LB at any level and he'll probably play at 250-255 in the NFL (my guess). That's a big linebacker. So much for the size argument. Who knows about the NFL. He'll go in the first round and if the Patriots choose his as expected he'll have a strong defensive line to work behind and should be just fine. Put him on a terrible defense and it certainly won't be a walk in the park for him. Ohio State's interior defensive line has been the weak spot IMO all year. Teams could run straight at them. They're undersized and do not impact the middle of the field as they should. In the past this has been a strength of the defense but not this year. Getting high, high quality interior DL is a priority. Your lines were great in the game, no doubt. I still believe the coverage by your DBs was the difference in the game and losing 3 Senior starters back there is going to hurt LSU next year. Still, highly ranked but a ton of experience leaves the team.
We'll be fine...You saw how that kid Coleman did for the All-American Steltz....We also have the #1 ranked high school defensive player coming in for next season and he's a cornerback...I think our secondary will be all right, I'm more worried about the linebackers, and D-Line, ummmm, never.
