I'll be surprised if Miles isn't back next year. I'll be more surprised if we replace him with someone worth a shit.
It felt like in December that LSU didn't want to eat the double digit millions it will take to pay the old and the big money it will take to lure the new. I don't believe Miles will ever sign another contract at LSU, but these best of the best coaches want to be paid.
You are entering the Jerry Stovall tunnel of bizarro. You like the guy. You respect the guy. You however know to coach at LSU he's not the guy. It's ok. I've been there. Your love for LSU and a return to excellence will make you temporarily have to go rogue. Take a deep breath and quietly hope for 7-5. It will all be ok. We'll be there on the other side.
Trying to extrapolate the bullshit we saw to end last season. Perception of wasting money was the issue and FKing is still running the show. I don't hate JBE, but I think he also had/will have a hand in LSU football suckage.
I cant do it but I understand the reasoning. If we had completely collapsed last year at least we would be starting with new hope this year. as it stands, we are stuck in a really bad marriage where we dont even talk anymore (ive been using this analogy with les the last 5 or so years). But its really bad now. He pretends nothing is wrong with his finger in his ear on his way to cashing his fat checks every week while im sleeping in the other room.
FKing had already undermined LSU saying the state was broke to all the legislators he was trying to bleed money out of and that LSU was on the verge of collapse. If we had paid two coaches top dollar he would have looked like a maroon so he wanted this coup to fail in order to save some political face. Well, as is always the case in Baton Rouge, politics always win out. And the best of the University is a distance 3rd or 4th on the hierarchial list. Thats why it took some visionaries like emmert, skip and saban to turn this shit show around. But make no mistake, we are back to full-on shit show. Full fucking speed ahead. Into the abyss proudly.
It was suggested that stuff is what stopped Jimbo in his tracks. But who knows, I was a little surprised Charlie Strong wanted to wade through the Texas shenanigans when he had a ton of support at Louisville. LSU is a strong brand.
