And by a long way. I have never seen a combination and speed and power like this kid has. Throw in superior vision, burst of speed through the line, tenacity, he's got it all.

Give credit to NoLimitMD (see his Moss/Rodgers thread). He called it when he was being drafted this season.

He just broke the NFL record for yards rushing in a single game (296 yards yesterday vs a decent/good San Diego defense).

He's a great kid. I hope he stays healthy. If he does, he will break all the records and go down as the best back ever.

LT's season last year appears to be a career year. Therefore he has come back to the pack as one of the better running backs in the NFL, nothing more.

Peterson is on pace for 2096 yards rushing in his rookie season. The season record for rushing yards is severely being challenged. The best thing to happen to Minnesota is for Chester Taylor to get injured. The 2nd best thing was for Tavarius Jackson to get injured (Bollinger should be the starting QB from here on in).

Easily. LT is good but doesnt have that game changing style AP has.

His power is great, but his burst and top end speed are otherworldly. Even I didn't think he would be quite THIS good. He runs with absolute reckless abandon, which could hurt him at some point. Until then though, he could be the best to have played the position. That's a crazy idea, given the great backs of all time.

I'm gonna wait another season or so before I make that declaration. He's certainly making a heck of a case though.

Some interesting tidbits about Adrian's remarkable season so far.

Adrian is tied with Randy Moss for the most plays run or pass for over 50 yards in a season with 7.

Yesterday, he broke the NFL single game rushing record with 296 yards rushing.

He had 30 carries for 296 yards

He averaged 9.9 yards per carry.

    - On 30 carries, Peterson topped 200 yards rushing for the second time in one season, a feat no other rookie has accomplished.

    - Peterson reached 1,036 yards rushing this season, a pace that would smash Eric Dickerson's rookie record of 1,808 yards set in 1983. Dickerson's all-time record of 2,105 yards in 1984 is also in reach.

    - Adrian reached 1000 yards in just 8 games. No other NFL running back has accomplished that feat.

    - LaDanian Tomlinson is considered the best football player in current circulation. LT has had four 200-yard rushing games in his seven seasons. Earl Campbell had four 200-yard rushing games in 1980 alone but had no other 200-yard games. Barry Sanders had four 200-yard games in his career. So did the epic Brown. Peterson has had two halfway through his rookie year. Peterson has had two halfway through his rookie year.

I just hope he can stay injury free.

We love our LT here in San Diego but I never saw LT leap a DE and still put out 10 yards in a crowd. AP has some sweet moves. Going to be interesting how his season completely unfolds. :)
