That makes more sense. The first reports made it sound like they were bringing Favorite to the active roster.
I don't get Meachem coming back into the game but yet now he is so banged up he is likely not to be able to play? I'm kinda loss with the signings going on here. They cut Deuce to make room for Arrington. Now Arrington is active on the 45 man roster and Favorite is signed to the PS. That means someone else has to be cut as well. The numbers don't add up.
The Practice squad is in addition to the 53 man active roster. The PS is 8, and in some cases 9 guys on top of the 53. Only 45 of the 53 active roster players can suit up for games. Here is how it went down 53 + PS: Deuce, Meachem, and Arrington 53: Deuce and Meachem 45: Meachem The Deuce Retires and Meachem gets hurt 53 + PS: Meacham, Arrington, Favorite 53: Meachem and Arrington 45: Arrington or Meacham
If Sean Payton ever really had any intentions of playing Duece the intention was to activate him in case the Cowboys had beaten the Vikings. Duece was the best blocking RB the Saints have ever had and DeMarcus Ware made life pretty miserable for Drew Brees in that game. Duece's role would have been to keep Ware from putting pressure on Brees but now that they are playing the ViQueeens its not necessary.
I can assure you that Sean Payton NEVER had the intention of playing Deuce. It was an act of class by the front office. A gesture to the fans and to Deuce....nothing more.
Are you saying that the Vikings pass rush is not as problematic? or you think the Saints O line is able to handle it? How true is it that the Vikings D line is banged up? I am nervous about the Vikings D. Hope the Saints have a good gameplan neutralizing their D. I am getting pumped up about the game; but it is hard to wait for gametime. The buildup this week felt like an eternity.
