And fundamental Christianity is not compatible with democracy either. THe bible is about slavery and genocide, and human sacrifice. In fact Christianity is at its most essential about the killing of one to forgive another through human sacrifice.

 

You are lost... Christianity is about forgiveness and turning the other cheek. Now that said people do corrupt the teaching and use it for thier own good. but that is more about the individual than the religion. The same can be said about Islam, but the assholes who bastardize thier religion do so with violence against non believers to level unheard of for a thousand years.

It's all about how you interpret the scriptures, obviously. You guys seem to be willing to accept that some Christians have abandoned the fire and brimstone but unwilling to accept that any Muslims have. But they have. And fewer have than will claim they have. And when the media claims X percent of Muslims are peaceful, you can probably figure 2/3X at best.

But even if only 10 percent of Muslims are comparable with Methodists in terms of worldview, that's still over 100 million people.

 

Unheard of? I dunno, Islam has been bringing the violence pretty much nonstop since it started. And Christianity only became pretty peaceful very recently.

Buddhism is like 99.9 percent peaceful and Jainism is like 500 percent peaceful.
