No. When a person is in charge of something and it does poorly, it is his fault. But when he is not in charge and it does well, it is other people that made it succeed.
Red, it's been pointed out by numerous people in numerous threads. I guess i could go back and quote every post you ever wrote in FSA but what's the point in that. You are very much to the left on almost all issues and because you lean to the right on gun control (I think that's the one), you claim to be a moderate. No one on this board thinks you're a moderate unless they don't understand politics. And I know you're retort will be that I don't know what you think and putting words in your mouth but it's obvious from the views you express. You are defined by your views, not by what you call yourself.
There are more issues than that. You are the one who doesn't understand politics nor what a moderate even is. Moderates have to vote republican or democrat because there isn't a moderate party. I have voted for three republican presidential candidates in my time, one independent and three democrats. I have voted for three republican and three democratic governors. How more moderate can I get? Right now the democrats embrace the middle while the republicans are falling off the cliffs on the right. If you are too myopic to see this, it ain't my problem. Then you need to pay better attention. I asked you to provide some evidence of me being dishonest and you failed to provide any, as I knew that you would. Nobody has. I speak my position clearly and regularly and I'm not trying to hoodwink anybody. Put up or shut up. This is a conservative forum but I also converse with very liberal people on campus and I know that I'm way to the right of them. I know I'm a moderate because I've lived it for 30 years. I seek pragmatism and balance, no party ideology. And I really don't give a chit if you agree or not. I still wonder why you think it's an issue at all. If I think you're a goose-stepping fascist wearing blinders, do you really care?
No. Like you, I couldn't care less what some guy on the internet thinks of me. Here is why it is an issue. I see the country I want my kids to grow up in and I want to do what I can to send the country in that direction and I'm very passionate about it. Your conservative bashing, left leaning ideologies are not what I envision for the future of our country and passing it off as middle of the road moderate pragmatism is unfair when you can sway people with your ideas. I choose to point out what I see and give another perspective on your views. That perspective is that they are not middle of the road views but some that can be very left leaning. These days, being a moderate is trendy and cool and is a great way to sell your ideas to impressionable minds. You obviously believe you are a moderate but your environment is one that is very much to the left which may be why you feel your views are middle of the road and balanced. In my opinion, they are not.
You are taking a snapshot of me today and trying to paint a whole mural. The conservatives have made a bloody mess of this country in the last 8 years and they have lost the moderates, you have to accept this. Moderates like me are standing with progressive democrats right now. I have not always been so. Carter pushed me to the right, Bush 41 pushed me to the left, Clinton pushed me to the right. Bush 43 pushed me to the left. In time Obama may push me to the right again, but right now moderates are better represented by Obama than anything the repubicans offer. You self-righteous indignation at conservative-bashing, is just tough, buddy. It's politics and people disagree with you for the same honest reasons you give. Unfair? Why are my opinions unfair as opposed to yours? Perhaps people are persuaded by moderate pragmatism. Perhaps you are too, your comment suggests. This is part of your misperception. The moderate position is broad, not absolutely centrist. The moderate position is flexible, not rigid. We drive on both sides of the road, as conditions indicate . . . it is only practical to do so. "Middle-of-the-road" is an average moderate position, we do not sit rigidly on the fence. The idea is to drive left or right lane as is best, but to stay on the road and not venture into the left or right shoulders, and certainly not into left or right field where the extremists go. Indeed it is. And it is smart, sensible, logical, and damned convincing to open minds not dulled by political ideology of the right and left. Your perspective is poor, out there in right field. All you expect to see are liberals to your left, when they are actually on the far side of the moderates. Your aim is poor.
theyve only gotten $53 million from the federal gov in 15 yrs? "A recent investigation by the office of Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) — another vocal ACORN critic — concluded that the organization had gotten at least $53 million from federal agencies since 1994."
Sure I do. I'm driving on the road, not in the ditches. switching lanes to miss a rough patch is only sensible.
