What other choice did Boehner and McConnell have but to cave? When the party backs itself into corners over things that they cannot possible win at, what other choice does the party leadership have but to cave? I don't care for either of them but they were set up for failure by their fellow members.

The point is, you and the rest of your liberal buddies, well, your other liberal buddy like to get on your soap box and proclaim that the republicans are a bunch of obstructionist when the opposite is in fact the truth. Like him or not Cruz is the only one with a spine that said "this goes against what I believe and what my constituents put me here to do" Instead of standing with him they turned and ran and let the dems have their way, every time.

Nonsense. We would have a single-payer ssystem and everybody would be covered just like Medicare if they got everything that wanted. They made concession after concession to the GOP and it gained no votes at all. So they stopped making concessions to the GOP.

This is great. Now the Party of No Clue is rapidly splitting into two parties, both of which will become smaller and less influential with declining demographics. And one of them is going over the right cliff.

This is basic ignorance. The American democratic system is designed to produce pragmatic solutions based on compromise. It has never been "get a one-vote majority and then we can do anything we want". It doesn't work that way. All it has brought is gridlock for which the GOP Tea Party is righty blamed. The smart republicans who know that they must work with democrats for the good of the nation will move towards the center and get some moderate support while the Nutjob Wing goes out in right field somewhere.
