I work with Murray's aunt and have been speaking to her regularly about her nephew. Aaron is currently a Junior at Plant High School in Florida. He's 6'2'' and 205 lbs. On the year, Aaron has thrown for 2033 yards, 26 TD passes, 1 INT and completed 64% of his passes (110 of 172 attempts). He's also rushed for 550 yards on 55 carries with 7 rushing TD's. His aunt is always telling me that she'd love for him to go to LSU (he's currently being recruited by USC, Florida, BC, USF, LSU and Ole Miss). I doubt you'll find much, if any, video clips/articles on him on the recruiting sites as he's only a Junior, but he could be an excellent QB for the class of '09. He was invited to participate in the Elite 11 camp and will likely be one of the top recruits at the QB position for next season. His numbers are amazing and with Crowton's offense looking more like a pro-style version of the spread offense (in that unlike Florida, LSU actually uses their running backs more to actually RUN the football as oppossed to speedy WR's on end arounds on direct snaps), Murray might prove to be a great fit in our system. By comparison, Plant high school also had a QB last season (Robert Marve) that finished his high school career with the greatest season of any prep QB in Florida state history but that will ALL change when Aaron's regular season is over this year. Take a look at Aaron Murray's current stats (and their season isn't even over yet!) compared to Marve's: Robert Marve, '06 113 completions in 168 attempts 67% completion percentage 1981 yards passing 24 passing TD's 5 INT's 50 rushes 394 rushing yards 4 rushing TD's Aaron Murray 110 completions in 172 attempts 64% completion percentage 2033 yards passing 26 passing TD's 55 rushes 520 rushing yards 7 rushing TD's impressive stuff if you ask me...
looks like you have a job in the coming months to be a hardcore recruiter to get him on the good guys. lol
The recruiting analysts from Florida keep praising this kid. Marve was a good one too so if he is better send the boy this way. :geauxtige
Well, I don't quite know what their "family allegence" is, but his aunt is always talking positively about Miles and which ever one of the coaching staff is primarily in charge of speaking with him. I asked her if she knew the LSU coach that has been talking to him but she didn't know off hand. I'm pretty sure she'll find out though.
No. Not as of yet but I'm sure it's probably no faster than 4.5-4.6, but I would venture to say that it's no slower than 4.8.
Well, at this point, it looks like LSU is handling things the right way and "putting feelers" out. All programs will actively recruit MANY players at the same position--even if they only plan on signing 1-2 at that position.
For those that have a rivals subscription, you can see some highlight vids on: http://florida.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=66179&sport=1 He's shows a VERY good feel for pressure in the pocket and definately has a strong arm. Lots of his throws were made either on the run, or against a strong pass rush forcing him to throw off his back foot. He appears more ellusive than fast. Looks to be probably a 4.7 in the forty.
