So you think Larry Foster should have been giving "open door" priviledges by another big-time program after he broke school rules??? (yes, I know stealing a purse isn't the same as drinking, but he was still in trouble with the school and team). ...bottom line is that it doesn't matter how either of us views the situation with Hebron because the odds are extremely high that he won't be a Tiger anyways--and probably was NEVER even considered to be one by CLM and the staff. What kind of message would THAT send?? --To dismiss 3 players (1 for fighting--and like you said, how many college boys don't get into a "scuffle"???) only to THEN take on a player that was just suspended by his own team/school??? SOoooo....you feel that it's ok to dismiss certain players under the notion that we have a higher standard for our players and expect to hold them to that standard reguardless of how much they mean to the team, or how athletic they are, but we can turn around and accept someone elses trouble because they were a former blue chipper????
yes. its a judgement call. i dont know all the details of the three recent dismissals or this hebron case. a LB, perhaps a great LB, is available (maybe). yes, i think lsu should look into it. i wouldnt discount hebron just because he was caught drinking twice. in my book, it isnt necessarily a big deal. and its certainly a far cry from offenses that actually hurt others--robbery, burglery, battery. i sure hope clm isnt one of those zero tolerance idiots. if they look into it and decide hebron is a ticking bomb, then drop it. this isnt really a big deal to me. just thought it was worth posting on TF.
I can't think of any players that Miles has gone after from other schools. We'd rather recruit the kids out of HS and have them for 4 years, or even get them from JUCO if we need immediate help. Leave the questionable recruiting tactics to Coach O at Ole Miss.
well, that was part of my reason for posting. if you are out of school is it a transfer? does it matter if he's out for one year or for good? again i think this is a very unique situation. i cant remember players being kicked out of the school (ok, suspended---he's out) not because of action the team had taken. he probably doesnt want to stay there anyway. i'll bet if he drinks again theyll string him up or put him in jail for 10 yrs because of some letter of the law crap.
If he's taken any classes at UGA (and it looks like he has), then he loses a year of eligibility and can't play anywhere for a year, regardless of whether he was kicked of out school.
