So warm during the Medieval Warm Period that England started competeing with France for wine making. The very warm period during Roman Empire explains why they could conquer so much of Europe. Because there was very little snow and the temp so pleasent they could easily cross mountain ranges and the landscape was rich with an abundance of plant and animal food to sustain themselves.
