He already handled the DC mess by hiring these two nimrods. It was his choice. It was a terrible choice. And the season has been awful as a result. He has one season to turn it around. Anything less than 9 wins, and he's out.
The reason for this season has to be put on coaching. 1) The DC decision 2) Poor defense - Poor tackling techniques - Failure of defensive backs to cover receivers 3) Predictable offensive
Unless there is a TOTAL AND COMPLETE meltdown on the team, he wont be out next year. Geez...he has plenty of rope and its longer than one more season. If next season is like this one he will be on the hot seat in 2010 but he wont be out after next year barring something akin to the Miami implosion that cost Coker his job.

Expectations? He won a national title! Then loses umpteen players to the NFL, loses Perilloux to disciplinary issues, lost Pelini, and replaced 2 CBs. The problems are somewhat understandable with having JL behind center all year and having 2 boneheaded morons at DC. I don't buy that things would have been better offensively with JJ at QB early on, the thinking was that JL and AH would have made it through the year, if you guys recall. The offense will be better next year as it is, JJ is the starter apparent. Simply get a decent DC and things will be right again. LSU!
I agree. But with #3 they're handcuffed at the beginning of the year with JL's limitations and JJ being right out of high school. I was expecting 3 loses but I can see that things WILL be better, I'm not worried.
