I actually thought we tackled much better today. The 17 play drive when we should've gotten the ball on a punt was huge to me. Also in the first quarter with third and one I thought we run it twice and if they stop us (They hadn't to then) let 'em have it on downs.
Once again make an inferior team look like an SEC Champion! LSU ought to pull a Notre Dame & turn down their bowl game in respect for all of their fans!
Arkansas was a much better team that year than this year. The SEC championship game was on the line. Also, our defense was not this pathetic and neither were the penalties. Unfortunately, we are in a fast decline that will only get worse unless Miles gets a solid defensive staff and reintroduces discipline to this team! Today, like so many other Saturdays this fall, was really disapointing. I am quickly losing confidence in Coach Miles and his ability to lead this program on the field. Hopefully that will change or I fear the financial ramifications that will follow. Times are getting tuff financially and this program needs the donations that come from TAFF and Sponsors. If anyone thinks that money flows into the program to pay for all the upgrades to facilities, coaches and debt want slow drastically as a result of poor performance, think again. We owe alot of debt, both the Athletic Department and TAFF and times are becoming very lean. Just my rambling thoughts and concerns. Geaux Tigers!
What gives you reason to believe we will finish 8-5? I think 7-6 is very probable. I hope not, but this team, especially the defense, has given me no reason to believe they can do it this year (win a bowl game). Also, we lost 3 home games, were blown out 3 times this year (twice at home), and I think 2002 wasn't as bad.
i saw that season and I did wonder sometimes what Saban was doing but I cant remember the coaching being this bad. I mean ALL the coaching, Les Miles included. You can blame the DC's all you want but HE put them there, and some of the play calling just stinks. Holliday up the middle? cmon man. :insane: I still thinks Miles is a great coach with great integrity, I think some bad karma has occured this season and we do need him to change somethings. I just hope he can man up and do it. It's not saving your own skin or throwing someone under the bus, its a positive change. If something isnt working a change might help. It might not but winston Churchill once said" change isnt always bad if it is a positive change" or something like that.
This is the only year I have ever though to myself, maybe it would be better if we didnt go to a bowl, just to save more embarressment. I know thats a sad way to look at it. I am almost embarressed like I was out there playing too. but I will still wear my hat to work Monday
