With Texas A&M coming into the SEC, it's unavoidable that they will become a rival. They have a strong recruiting class thus far although it remains to be seen what the firing of Sherman will do.

Having Houston be a strong program should help keep some good players away from A&M thus helping LSU.

A&M is going to start pushing hard into west Louisiana. We've got to make sure west LA is shored up and lock down the border.

No player worth their salt is choosing A&M over LSU.

OK Folks, as of today Coach Sumlin is the leading candidate to replace Sherman. If he takes the job it will mean the kids opting for U of H will now opt for A & M. College Station is not too far away from here. From the Washington Post:

"The school hasn’t identified any candidates, but possible replacements could include Houston coach Kevin Sumlin or Louisville coach Charlie Strong. Sumlin, who has led the seventh-ranked Cougars to a 12-0 record, was an assistant at A&M from 2001-02. "
